Wednesday Starts The Weekend!

I am so ready for this weekend to start. I’ll let you know what I’ve been up to the last few hours.

So, can you guess?

We’re celebrating Thanksgiving at my brother and sister-in-law’s place tomorrow. Our assignment is mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, and green bean casserole. All are done and ready to be refrigerated for transportation tomorrow.

I’m excited to see how everyone likes the dishes. This is the first time I’ve made sweet potatoes and green been casserole this way.

The sweet potatoes are whipped and the green bean casserole is all from scratch, no cream of mushroom soup or anything like that.

Ready set go!

What are your go-to thanksgiving sides that you like to make?

Frog

A few months ago my wife and stayed at my brother’s ranch for a night. When we first arrived my wife noticed a tiny, green tree frog hanging out by the sink. She thought it was the coolest thing. We decided to leave it alone and go to bed.

The next morning the little guy was still there. This is when my wife decided to make it her pet. It looks similar the the below photo.

This morning she noticed that he escaped! I guess he couldn’t take all of the hugs and cuddles any more.

How are your pets?

Thanksgiving Weekend

This Thanksgiving weekend I have a grand trip planned for my wife and me. We will be without kids from Thursday afternoon till Sunday afternoon. I’m giddy just thinking about it.

She doesn’t know what we’re doing yet, just that we are doing something just the two of us. She’s very excited, and beyond ready.

We’re going to someplace like what’s shown above. I’ll let you know how it goes.

What do you have planned for Thanksgiving?

Familia

Today I’ve decided to share a little bit about my family.

My wife and I met in Dallas, TX almost three years ago. I was born in Florida, but spent most of my time in SW Missouri. She is from San Diego. We hit it off pretty quickly.

We were married two years ago on September 5th. When we married I inherited one boy and three girls from her previous marriage. That boy lives with us now. He’s 14, and a handful.

Soon after we got married we found out that she was pregnant. Our daughter was born in March, almost two years ago. She’s also a handful, but differently.

I’ve only spent a little time with the other girls, but that’s starting to become more of a reality each and every day. It’s nice when we have all five together.

Any suggestions on how to best raise a 14-year-old boy or a 19-month-old girl? I’m open to all suggestions.

Saturday Fun

This weekend we are house/dog sitting for my mom and her boyfriend. They live about 80 miles north of us in Southwest Missouri.

You don’t get much more “middle” than that.

One of the things they left behind for us is a coupon for a place called Hu Hot. It’s a Mongolian Grill, but more of a buffett style. I think that’s what we’re doing tonight. Hopefully we’ll be able to meet some friends there also.

What are you doing this fine Saturday?
